|A friend of mine has a plant she believes is called a margenata (kind of a spiky tree). The plant has produced a white powdery substance which poofed out to surrounding plants. Is this natural and/or should she be concerned about this substance? Can she cure the plant?

|A marginata tree is the Madagascar Dragon Tree and the puffball you describe quite common. In fact, it's perfectly normal and one of the reasons it is called a Dragon Tree!
