|I purchased a bag with two small raspberry plants in it Saturday 27 Feb. 2010. The package suggests that they be planted in April. The bag was not wet. Are these plants dormant or should I water them until I plant them?

|The bareroot raspberries are dormant now and won't require watering - unless everything is bone dry. If so, you can soak the roots in a bucket of water for a few hours and then plant the raspberries in your garden. I think the worst of your winter weather is over and the plants should be safe in the garden this month. In places where the ground is still frozen, the raspberries should not go into the garden until April. Hope this clarifies things for you.
