|We live on a wooded lot that has poplar, oak, and boxelders on it. The front 100' is a north facing slope that is not wooded. We would like to add trees. The soil is sandy and usually dry. We would like to plant maples or birch. What would you suggest?
|Norway Maples and Paper Birch are good options, as are most lindens. Before you start buying and planting trees, though, remember that young saplings need a consistent supply of moisture to get well established, so have a plan for irrigation in mind before you plant. If you need suggestions for irrigation, let us know. Best of luck!
