|Early spring is the best time to dig and divide maiden grass. You can make as many divisions as you'd like and provided each division has both roots and stems attached, they should grow into attractive plants later this spring and summer. You can leave the original plants in place and simply dig around the edges of the clumps to make divisions, or you can dig the entire plant up and slice through the root mass to divide it. Best wishes with your project!
