I have little white bugs in my ficus tree's soil. I have tried using the eco sense insecticide with no success. What can I do to get rid of them?

I'm not sure what the little bugs might be but if you have used an insecticide as a soil drench without success, perhaps repotting your ficus in fresh potting soil is the answer. Be sure to brush as much old soil as possible off the root system before replanting in fresh potting soil. Or, you can collect some of the pests (just scoop out some soil along with the bugs and place it in a sealable plastic bag) and take them to your local cooperative extension office for positive identification. Helpful folks there can suggest remedies. Contact UMass Extension State Office, Slobody Building, Suite C1; 101 University Drive, Amherst, MA 01002 phone 413-545-4800.
