I live in Jacksonville, Florida. When can I fertilize my St. Augustine grass? There are a few weeds, so what kind of fertilizer should I use?

In a nutshell, St. Augustine should be fed in March, and once again during the growing season - usually June. You can use a weed and feed for Southern lawns to safely control the weeds in your St. Augustine. Scott's Bonus S is one brand, but there are others. Just be sure to read the label - St. Augustine should be listed as a turf type that's safe to apply the product to.
