If you have a bright, sunny windowsill, you can grow basil indoors. It will probably take 4-5 weeks before a basil plant has enough leaves to share. You can cut leaves off of your plant after it has developed 3-4 sets of true leaves. You will want to take only a few leaves at a time but each time you cut, your plant will branch out and eventually you'll have lots of leaves that you can harvest at will.
