|I live in the New Orleans area and we had an unusually cold winter this year. I have a bamboo planted in my backyard which did great since we bought it. However, with this cold wheather it lost all it's leaves and turned brown. I don't know much about bamboo, so I was wondering if it's dead or will it come back when it get's warmer?

|It's difficult to predict whether or not your bamboo will recover from the frosty weather - some varieties are more cold hardy than others. But with any luck the roots are still healthy and will resprout new culms. I would prune off all the obviously dead shoots and wait to see if new ones develop when the weather warms up. Let's hope for the best!
