Too early to seed? - Knowledgebase Question

North Charleston, So

I live in Charleston, SC. With the abnormal cold this season (75+ nights below freezing and counting) is it too early to sow some annual grass seed to get a start on filling in some thin spots? Will the constant freezes kill the seed shoots?

It will be better to wait until April to overseed. The frosty nights will kill the newly germinated seedlings. As soon as the weather warms the grass will grow quickly so wait another month or so before seeding. Hope the weather warms up soon!
