Aphids are such a problem! That's because you can have a population explosion in only a few days. Aphids give birth to live young so you can have mothers, grandmothers and daughters all feeding on the same plant at the same time. Hosing them off with plain water is the least expension option, frequent applications of insecticidal soap is the next best control. Or, attracting ladybugs and lacewings to you garden can help with control. These insects will visit your garden if you do not use insecticides which might kill them off and if you have lots of colorful flowers blooming most of the season. These beneficial insects can easily be purchased live from many garden centers and online sources.
