Can you use a daylight deluxe lamp instead of a gro light for starting seeds indoors?

If your daylight deluxe lamp has a fluorescent bulb, you can use it in place of a gro light. Fluorescent bulbs remain cool and can be placed within an inch or two of the tops of your plants; incandescent bulbs would get too hot to be placed that close.
