The easiest solution to use for cleaning and sterilizing your containers is to mix one part bleach and 9 parts of water together. Start by scrubbing the containers to remove old potting soil debris and mineral deposits. Once they are clean, either pour in the water/bleach solution and swish it around, then empty and rinse with plain water, or set them in a sink filled with the water/bleach solution, then rinse and air dry. Your pots should be almost good as new.
