|I have been wondering what is better, a rasied vegetable garden or just flat on the ground. Since my garden is'nt gpoing to be really big (10X8) does that make a difference?

|The only difference might be how quickly the soil drains and how quickly it warms up in the spring. Soils in raised beds drain faster and warm up sooner than ground level beds. It isn't necessary to build a formal raised bed. You can simply dig and mound up the soil in your proposed vegetable garden site. Taper the sides from the top to the bottom to help hold the soil in place. Over the summer the sides will erode but you can rebuild your raised bed every year before you plant. Hope you have a great harvest!
