Overseeding with bermuda isn't a bad idea. It will help your lawn green up for the summer, but regardless of the turf type, you will need to water to keep it green. If you haven't already, consider aerating your lawn and spreading a layer of compost or sand over the top. The compost or sand will work its way down into the holes the aerator left and give the water a place to collect. When you do water, water slowly so it can percolate down and wet the entire rootsystem. This should help your lawn remain greener longer.
