Almost a year ago I bought from home Depot a Double Hibiscus celia red which was blooming wonderful. Now is blooming not a double but a single Celia. Can you explain why? |
A double flowering hibiscus is bred to develop double flowers and will not develop single flowers. The only possible cause is that your hibiscus was grafted onto a single flowering rootstock and the stems of the rootstock have overtaken the grafted part of your plant. Hope this information helps solve the mystery. |
