I have a hygrangea tree in my yard and am looking for trees similar in height - around 10 feet. I live outside Philadelphia and have clay soil.

You might try growing Redbud trees or dwarf crabapple, a weeping Katsura (Cercidiphyllum 'Pendula') or a dwarf weeping cherry. All top out at about 10 feet.
