What a pain!! For larger infestations, use your vacuum cleaner to help eliminate the boxelders you see inside your home. This will be a great tool to use along with pesticide applications, but not a total substitution. A good residual spray that is labeled for both inside homes, exterior of homes, trees and shrubs is Bonide?s Total Pest Control. The active ingredient is a pyrethroid type insecticide called Permethrin (13.3%). Or, you can use Power Force Multi-Insect Killer by Bayer - This is a contact insecticide that kills many pests. The active ingredient is a pyrethroid type insecticide called Cyfluthrin (.0003%). Be sure to follow label directions.
