Last yeard I guess I didn't water my Fals Cypress enough to where the inner foliage has died off. Is there any kind of pruning I can do encourage some grownth in there besides keep a better eye on watering it? The birds really love this tree and I'd hate to ruin it for them!

Once the center has become bare you may not be able to coax it to regrow. But if you do some light pruning all over it will encourage new growth which should grow dense enough to hide the bare center of the plant. Use a hedge trimmer to remove just the tips of each of the stems. With any luck the pruning will also encourage center growth. Let's hope so!
