Last year I heard that mushroom soil is good for the garden. So I dumped about 5 yards in it and turned the soil over several times to mix it up. I thought I would have a great garden this year but it didn't work out. What can I do for next year?

Mushroom soil is a great source of organic matter to use in the soil building process, so you are already off to a great start. In order to know for sure what else to add to your soil, you really need to perform some basic soil tests. Your County Extension can help you with the tests and with interpreting the results. (Their telephone number is 345-3283.) Fall is an excellent time to do the tests and begin adding any necessary amendments for nest year. Good luck with your garden!
