i plan to overseed there a safe pre-emergent i can use?is it a good time now to overseed and when should i fertilize? Thank in Advance Charles

Pre emergents will stop seeds from germinating, whether they are weed seeds or grass seeds. If you traditionally have trouble with weeds first thing in the spring, I'd apply the pre emergent first and then wait 4 weeks before overseeding. If the weed problem isn't that pressing, forego the pre emergent and simply overseed. A thick, healthy lawn can help crowd out weeds. You can feed your lawn after the new grass is up and established - usually after you have mowed it 3 times. Best wishes with your lawn.
