I just bought a Tartarian black cherry tree. Do I need another sweet cherry tree to pollinate the first one?

Most sweet cherry trees need a second variety for good fruit set - even those that are labeled self-fruitful will produce better with a second cherry tree. You can plant Bing, Lapins or Stella as a companion to your Black Tartarian.
