Is growing Heirloom, Black, Russian tomatoes any more difficult than growing other tomatoes? Do they need any special care? Can I use spent coffee grounds on them? Thank you.

You'll find that the heirloom tomatoes are as easy, if not easier to grow than the hybrids. Heirlooms trace their parentage way back to days when gardeners didn't have access to all the fertilizers and pesticides that are available today. Heirlooms are hardy plants and should grow well in your garden without any more care than you would give any other plant. Coffee grounds sprinkled around the soil at the base of your plant will provide a little nitrogen to your plants and will very slightly acidify the soil. Best wishes with your garden!
