Late winter or early spring is the best time to plant bareroot roses, spring and early summer are the best times to plant containerized roses. I suspect that bareroot roses have already arrived in your garden center. If you cannot find a bareroot Knockout rose, you should find them as containerized plants within the next 3-4 weeks, which will be the perfect planting time for your gardening region.
