The easiest approach is to knock down the nests as soon as the wasps start to build them. Use a long handled broom to knock them down or a hose with a nozzel to direct a strong spray of water if they are really up high. Be persistent in destroying the nests while they are being built and the wasps will eventually give up and go away. Ants can be kept out of flower pots by setting the pot on a few stones in a plastic tray or drip saucer and keeping about a half inch of water in the tray or saucer. As long as the bottom of the pot does not sit in the water and you keep water in the try, it will act like a moat and the ants won't be able to access the plant. Gnats are difficult to control because they fly in from other areas of the garden. The don't harm plants but they can be annoying. You can try drenching the soil with a product called Gnatrol but you'll have to repeat the treatments because new gnats will always be arriving. Best wishes with your containerized garden!
