Iam about to start planting my vegs. in my raised garden, Iam wondering if I can use pinestraw (pineneedls) around the vegetables instead of mulch?
Thanks Jane

Pinestraw is a great mulching material. Apply it thickly and it will not only suppress weeds and slow water evaporation but as they decompose they will help acidify the soil slightly. Dig them in at the end of the growing season and they will decompose and help build the structure of your soil. Good luck with your garden.
