I have a question, I bought an apple tree from home depot. However, nobody seemed to know if it was self pollinating or not. Also, the tag did not specify if it was a self pollinator or not. I was wondering if someone could clear this up for me and also let me know if I need to get another tree. Thanks for your help!

All apple trees need a second variety in order to set fruit. If there are other apple trees in your neighborhood, you may not need a second tree. You may have to wait until it flowers before you can determine whether you need to plant a compatible companion. If it sets fruit, there's another apple tree nearby. If it flowers but doesn't set fruit, you'll need a second variety. Hope this clarifies things for you. Check both the label and the container. I hope the cultivar is written somewhere!
