We had a box elder tree cut down many years ago but we still are invaded by the bugs. I've heard very little can be done and I've tried bug killers, no luck.

Box elder bugs are a real nuisance, aren't they? Sometimes you can control them with a permethrin based insecticide such as Bonide?s Total Pest Control, Bioneem by Safer; Bon-Neem by Bonide or Power Force Multi-Insect Killer by Bayer.

If you'd like to read all about them and their lifecycles, here's a publication from the University of Minnesota. I think it's interesting: http://www.extension.umn.edu/d...
