I just finished making a vegetable table (3x6x12ft). I want to plant a variety of vegetables and I am considering: carrots, peas, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, parsley basil, oregano, thyme, cilantro and serano peppers. How soon can I start planting? Nashville, TN.

April 5th is the average last frost date in Nashville. I'd wait another 7 days after that (just so the soil can warm up a little more) and then plant. Start with the peas, onions, lettuce, carrots and parsley - they don't mind cool temperatures. About the first of May plant your basil, oregano, thyme, tomatoes and peppers. These plants appreciate warmer temperatures. Best wishes with your garden!
