|Roses prefer to be the stars of the garden but there's no reason you cannot plant shallow rooted annuals in your planter box along with your roses. Look for plants that like the same growing conditions as your roses - lots of sunshine and moist soil. How about some of the smaller trailing petunias? Dwarf Marigolds are another suggestion. Or, visit your local garden center and choose your favorite annuals. Enjoy!
