When the depth says 6 inches deep do they mean from the top of the bulb or the depth of the hole, some bulb are large & would make a diferance

Another way to gauge the depth is to plant a bulb twice as deep as it is wide. If you're following the exact instructions, 6" deep means the bottom of the hole should be 6" from the soil level, regardless of the size of the bulb. If you plant bulbs too deeply they can run out of stored energy before the stems can reach the soil surface. Hope this clarifies things for you.
