While mid September is a bit late for seeding most fall vegetable crops, you might try some fast maturing peas, spinach and salad cutting greens, for instance. Fall is a good time to plant out many types of young perennial plants. Additional started plants available for planting now would include pansies, violas and mums for some color this year.
