Transplant to larger pots? - Knowledgebase Question

Question by headedoutwes

I have several Bald Cypress seedlings in one gallon pots. Over the Winter I buried the pots in mulch. I have purchased some three gallon plastic pots and would like to know when is the best time to transplant the seedlings to the larger pots?
Thank you,

The trees are probably still dormant, or at least at a very slow growing stage. I'd transplant them now, working quickly enough that the roots are not exposed to the elements for any length of time. Be sure to water them well after transplanting to help settle the soil. It's important that they are replanted at the same soil level as they were growing before. Best wishes with your cypresses!
