The Hummingbird Flower is Zauschneria (reclassified from Epilobium), and is native to California, where it's a perennial plant. In your area you can expect it to grow as an annual (it will die back in your winter weather). Zauschneria grows in full sunshine with little water, has gray-green leaves and bright scarlet flowers that are trumpet shaped. Seeds are available from: Cyberseeds, P. O. Box 171102, San Antonio, TX 78217-1102.
