Should I scrape moss of the beds as I clean them in the early spring before I dress with compost? Thank you.

Moss usually indicates acidic soils, poor drainage and soil compaction. Scraping it off is a good first step and incorporating some compost to help adjust the pH and alleviate the compaction will also help. Best wishes with your garden.
