My rosemary plant has become a huge bush -- 6 feet around, 4 feet high. Should/can it be pruned, and if so, when.

You can prune your rosemary but don't prune it back to bare wood or it won't leaf out again. Once the stems become woody, no new growth will emerge. It's easier to start all over with a new plant and trim it on an annual basis to keep it full and thick. With your overgrown rosemary, prune back to remove most of the green growth, but not all. You can probably keep yours 8-10 inches smaller all around, but you can't really reduce the size by much once it becomes so overgrown.
