Both are good sources of organic matter and both will improve the soil's tilth as well as release nutrients as they continue to decompose. The only downside to manure is that if it is fresh, it can be too hot which might burn the roots of your plants - and it might contain weed seeds. If you age the manure for a year it will be an excellent substitute for compost and you can use either organic matter interchangeably in your garden.
