Will apricot trees bear fruit in Hampton Roads area of Virginia? I read they wouldn't, but then saw a tree for sale at Home Depot. If so, which varieties will bear fruit here?

Do apricot trees bear fruit in the Hampton Roads area? It depends upon the cultivar. Prunus mume, the Japanese Apricot, will grow in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. As a matter of fact, you can see one at Virginia Tech's Hampton Roads Agricultural Research and Extension Center.
