Is it possible to sterilize a hickory tree to prevent the nuts from falling?

There really isn't any practical way to keep your hickory tree from producing nuts. Pruning after or during flowering will certainly reduce the nut production but if it's a large tree, you may have to hire a professional. Wish I had better news for you!
