All of the shade trees in the garden center will have labels that indicate the mature size of the tree. Choose one that appeals to you that will not get larger than you want. For instance, you might consider an ornamental pear, Acer japonicum (fullmoon maple), Apple, Cercis (redbud), Chionanthus (fringe tree), Crape Myrtle, flowering plum, Stewartia, or Leptospermum (Australian Tea Tree - evergreen). Best wishes with your landscape!
