|I cover my raised beds with 6 inches of straw every fall. When should the straw be removed in the spring to allow the soil too warm up faster? (I live in the northern part of Illinois with some sunny days and temps in the 60's during the daytime--but nighttime temps are still below freezing)

|If the bed is empty except for the mulch, you can uncover it now. If it's full of plants, wait until about mid-April (your average last frost date).
