San Juan Capistrano, Ca
|I need a hedge-type plant (can be pruned into a formal shape) for shade to partial sun. I have 2 junipers cut into spiral shapes but they are losing color and must not be getting enough sun. Any recommendations? This area doesn't get direct sun but I need something that will grow neatly and somewhat tall due to the space constraints.

|Pittosporum tobira, Boxwood, California Privet (Ligustrum ovalifolium), and Mock Orange (Philadelphus virginalis) are all shade tolerant and might fit the bill. Hope so!
