please recommend annuals that will thrive in areas that do not drain well. garden is on the east side of the house

There are a few annuals tolerant of damp soils. Pansies, Bachelor's Button, Coleus, Impatiens, Lisianthus, Lobelia, Nicotiana, Nigella, Wishbone Flower and vinca top the list. Hope they grow well for you!
