I will be planting 4 pygmy palms into pots. 2 are in 16

Pygmy palms are relatively slow growing so you can pot them up in the next sized containers and they'll be happy for 3-4 years or you can plant them into 15 gallon (half wine barrel sized) containers and they can remain there for many years. Whatever you decide to use, be sure that when you replant the palms will be growing at the same soil level as they were in the original pots. Best wishes with your new palms.
