WE HAVE A BABY ROBELLINI (ABOUT 2 FOOT) WITH A LOT OF GREEN ON THE BOTTOM LEAVES AND SOME ON TOP. OUR QUESTION:HOW MUCH CAN WE CUT OFF? DO WE CUT ALL THE WAY TO THE TRUNK OR JUST BY BRANCH? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. ROSE & JOHN BRILL |
You can cut everything off about two thirds of the way up the trunk if you'd like. Leave about a third of the foliage the plant has as a topknot at the top of the trunk. Or, you can just leave them the way they are and cut the foliage off as it dies back. If you decide to prune, take the entire frond off as close to the trunk as you can. I cut mine about one inch from the trunk. |
