|Sealing the wood should be fine for ornamental plants but I'd be cautious about using sealers for a vegetable garden. Check the label to make sure it's safe for veggies, or use a natural preservative such as linseed oil instead. Linseed oil takes a very long time to dry but once it does, it makes a terrific preservative and it's safe to use for vegetable gardens. Best wishes with your new raised bed!
