|how likely am I to grow sweet pototes from a potatoe that I got with lot of eyes one it?
I was hoping that once the eyes started to sprout I could cut up like I do reg potatoes.
|You can cut it up and plant the pieces but sweet potatoes need more heat and a longer summer than your garden can provide. It's fun to try to grow them, though because they grow lots of vines and flowers, which makes them look attractive in the garden. However, your summer won't be long enough or hot enough to cause the plants to produce tubers, except in unusually hot summers. Who knows - we may have an unseasonably warm summer this year!|
