I am looking for low lying shrubs that will grow no more than two feet in height and flower. I like butterflies, do not like trimming. The plants should be two feet in diameter. I live in northern Illinois.

I don't know that you'll find many shrubs attractive to butterflies that only grow 2' tall and wide. But, you might consider planting heather or dwarf azaleas, depending upon whether the site gest sun or shade. Wish I could be more helpful!
