Have leftover #4 lawn fertilizer from last fall. Is it ok to use now in spring? Will it control the crabgrass or need to buy new spring #1? Can #4 save til this fall? Lawn in Connecticut.

As long as the fertilizer has been kept dry, it will be safe to use this fall. It's a winterizer fertilizer which has a slightly different NPK ratio than a spring fertilizer. I'd recommend using a fertilizer formulated for spring, one with Halts or other crabgrass pre-emergent herbicide included. Get it on the lawn soon - crabgrass seeds germinate in the early spring and the pre emergent needs to be put down before that happens. Good luck with your lawn.
