|I need to trim several azaleas which are about 4 feet tall. I want to trim them to 3 feet tall. Any suggestions?

|I'd wait until they have finished flowering before pruning. I'm a little concerned you want to take them down by 12" instead of pruning only 3-4 inches off all around. By trimming them so far you may not get flowers for 2 years. If you simply prune away 3-4 inches each spring you'll eventually get them down to size but without forfeiting the flowering. Either way, your azaleas should recover from the pruing session.
