|The webbing is probably a sign of spidermites which are common on gardenias. You can rinse them away with plain water or you can use insecticidal soap. To prevent this in the future, periodically rinse your gardenina off with water. (You can sit it in the shower and turn the leaves to wash the undersides and stems.) Spidermites like dry, dusty places so rinsing your plant will discourage them. Best wishes with your gardenia.
